Premiere pro Source Effect presets disappearing after reboot

I'm on the latest version of premiere pro on mac (25.2.3), all is up-to-date and I'm not using things like iCloud drive for my documents folder. Everything is local. I've had this problem for other versions of premiere pro as well.

I'm having a bug with premiere pro where I try to make a preset of the settings on the source. All works well when I keep premiere pro open. But when i restart premiere the (test) preset is gone. It is a preset that can only be applied to the source of the video file, but it all works when i drag and drop it on top of a clip.

I've already tried and delete the 'Effect Presets and Custom Items.prfpset' located in my documents folder. When I try to open the file with a text editor and i search for 'RED' i can see the preset in there. I then proceed to reboot premiere pro and i see the custom preset for a couple of seconds. After that everything disappears and basically resets to the default.

I'm not sure what to do since I've already tried quite a bit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Updating Status to Fixed in 25.4

Hi @MOTIK,

Thanks for the quick response. It's great to hear your positive feedback!
This fix is on track for a future release, but it may take some time.

While we don’t recommend using beta versions for production work, the Beta app installs separately from the release version, so you can use it in parallel while keeping your released environment intact.

Thanks again,
Mayjain

@mayjain7130546 @jamieclarke It works perfectly now! Thanks. When will the release become available?

Hi @MOTIK,

As Jamie mentioned, this issue has been fixed in the latest Premiere Pro Beta build. While we don’t recommend using beta versions for production work, the beta installs separately from the release version and can be used if you'd like to test the fix.

If you do try the beta, let us know how it goes, Your feedback would be very welcome!

Thanks,
Mayjain

This issue has been fixed in Premiere Pro Beta version 25.4.0 build 27 and later, and the fix will be included in the next stable release: Premiere Pro 25.4.0

@jamieclarke Awesome, any idea how long a fix may take? Quite annoying. I've also had the issue on pr24 (but now only use 25).
