Issue 1 - Lumetri Color

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open any project.
2. Open the Lumetri Color panel.
3. Expand Curves or Color Wheels.

Expected result:
The controls should work immediately.

Actual result:
Curves and Color Wheels often become unresponsive on first open. If I switch to another panel and then return to Lumetri, they start working normally.

Frequency:
This happens almost every time. I have experienced this across multiple Premiere Pro versions on both macOS and Windows.

Issue 2 - Timeline Label

Steps to reproduce:
1. Select one or more clips in the timeline.
2. Right-click and open Label.

Expected result:
The Label menu should open and allow selecting a color.

Actual result:
Premiere UI freezes. macOS continues to work normally, but Premiere becomes completely unresponsive and must be Force Quit.

System:
- Mac mini M4 (16 GB RAM / 256 GB SSD)
- Apple Silicon
- Premiere Pro 26.0.0
- macOS 27 Beta

Additional information:

This issue has been occurring for several months and affects my professional editing workflow.

The Lumetri issue has occurred across multiple Premiere Pro versions on both Windows and macOS, so it does not appear to be hardware-specific.

The Timeline > Label freeze has also been occurring for several months and is consistently reproducible on my system.

A crash report has already been submitted through the Adobe Crash Reporter, and I have attached a screen recording demonstrating the issue.

    Hi @Spfilms_77,

Welcome to the Premiere forums. Thank you for reporting this occurrence and providing extensive detail with the screen record. To understand the broader context and for the team to try to better assist, you we’ll need more details:

    • When did the problem first begin?
    • Was Premiere ever working properly on your system?
    • Does updating to Premiere change performance?
    • Is possible to roll back to Tahoe to test performance?

Sorry for the frustration. I hope the team can help you soon.

    Best,

    Jonathan

    Hi Jonathan,

Thank you for getting back to me.

To clarify, there are actually two separate issues:

    1. Lumetri Color – Curves and Color Wheels

I have experienced this issue for a long time, across multiple Premiere Pro versions, and on both Windows and macOS.

When I open Lumetri Color and expand Curves or Color Wheels, the controls often become unresponsive on the first open. If I switch to another panel and then return to Lumetri, the controls start working normally.

So far, this behavior has been consistent across different Premiere versions and different computers, which makes me think it may be a Premiere UI issue rather than a hardware-specific problem.

    2. Timeline > Label freeze

This is a separate issue that has been happening for the past few months. When I right-click a clip in the timeline and open Label, Premiere sometimes becomes completely unresponsive. macOS itself continues working normally, but Premiere has to be Force Quit.

The crash report I submitted was generated after this Label-related freeze.

    Regarding your questions:

    - When did the problem first begin?

The Lumetri Curves/Color Wheels issue has been present across multiple Premiere versions for a long time. The Timeline > Label freezing issue started several months ago.

    - Was Premiere ever working properly on my system?

Yes. Premiere generally works well, but these specific UI issues have persisted despite updating to newer versions.

    - Does updating Premiere change the performance?

The general performance is fine, but these specific issues have continued across multiple versions. Updating has not permanently resolved them.

    - Is it possible to roll back to Tahoe to test performance?

I can consider testing this, but I have also experienced the Lumetri issue on Windows, so I am not sure a macOS rollback would address that particular problem. I would prefer to try other troubleshooting steps first if possible.

I have also attached a screen recording showing the behavior. The crash report has already been submitted through the Premiere crash reporter.

Thank you for taking the time to investigate this.
