Premiere Pro V25.1 Auto Relinking

We are working on a project that contains a large amount of media being read from a NAS with resonable speeds.
Working on a Dell Workstation i9-13900 2.00GHz / 128gb RAM / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090

Since the inclusion of the auto relink, we constantly have media relinking, even tough paths have not changed. The process takes around 5min a per clip, if not longer and the majority of media is labeled as "PENDING".

This is my first experience with something like this as media usually sticks once imported.

Why then is is constantly making the media pending? This is definitely a bug.

When downgrading the project to Pr 2023, it worked seamlessly, no relinking, but it did have some files offline as well as missing effects, which, due to the size of the project, is not feasable for us.

I aslo tried opening the project and letting the relink process run, which took around 4hours... to get to 99%, which is extremely problematic and it is taking away our ability to get work done on the timeline, when the majority of the time is spent waiting for pending media.

The impact is serious and we are considering changing out all our NLEs to something that is more stable and consistent, like Davinci or Avid.

Can any moderators help with this please? Desperate to get this project done.

Premiere has always had a file-length name thing ... too many characters, and you're out. I don't know how many characters you're running, or how many the current version accepts.

Hoping someone who knows pops in.

Hey Neil.
NAS is mapped with consistent drive letters Y and Z on our PC's.
We utilise naming that has a fair ammount of metadata in the naming:
Region_product_yyyyddmm_asset type_sub-product_team_person name_cam_a_01

This is all in a very organized and short tree, but I am wondering if the long name might be impacting this version of premiere... we have always been using that naming and we have never had the problem before...

How is that NAS mapped? What's the typical file-tree name structure? Sometimes those bits can be helpful in solving this crud.
