Premiere Pro will not import full video (cuts the duration down to max 4:57)

As the title mentioned, I cannot import any video longer than 4:57. Say my video is 10 minutes, even in the import menu it will show 4:57. The original files don't have any issue, and the sequence matched the clips (create sequence from clip). I didn't have this problem a few days ago when I was importing clips from the same harddrive, filmed from the same camera (CanonR50 4K).

I cleared the media cache, reset premiere pro settings, rebooted my computer, uninstalled and re-installed the app but the problem persists. I don't know if this is a bug or if it's something on my end. How do I fix this problem?

According to Karl Soule, the Import Page is also good at ingesting spanned media ... select the overall folder, and it will import the spanned clips correctly.

My guess is the same as Neil's. 🙂

If you import the media via the Media Browser (instead of drag-n-drop, or File --> import), does PPro see the entire duration?

Are those spanned files? That the camera splits into those segments on card?
