PremierPro - Broken Libary?

Premier Pro - Version 24.6
HP Elitebook x360 1030 G8 - Windows 10 Enterprise

This issue came up after the latest update or before the summer.

When I try to add files/motion graphics templates (both from my own- and a "public" library) they get highlighted in red when imported into Premiere Pro, as if they are broken. The project file size also increases from about 6 GB to 18 GB, even though the file/template I add from the library is relatively small.

For example, if I add a logo that should appear in the corner throughout the video, the file size increases regardless of whether the logo is on the video for 2 seconds or 1 hour.

I have tried deleting and re-downloading the libraries, but there is no difference, so I suspect there is something wrong with the program. However, I don’t know how to fix it. Any tips are welcome!

Even if i change the target bitrate, the estimated time is still very high.
And during the "export-process" the file/system often crashes and does not go all the way. Meaning even if I lower the bitrate i still can't export the file succesfully. So i still something is wrong since the latest update to the program.

Earlier this summer i got this message and did the updated to the program but it still does not work..
Do I have to do something other?

Hi Freya

In the second screenshot, you have increased the target bitrate from 9 Mbps to 31.7 Mbps. This is what is causing the estimated size to increase.

Hi Mike,

That is not the case, its not longer with the mogrts. Yes the video shall be 1,17 h.

Here you can see two screen shots and the only difference is that the one below have motion graphics added to the timeline. It's a logo in the corner, that will run through out the whole sequence, so it does not make it longer just  a add-on on the excisting "cut".

Without mogrts:

Hi -

Your sequence length as indicated by your screenshot is 1 hour and almost 17 minutes long. The only calculation that this is doing is multiplying the bit rate by the length of the sequence, so the only way you can make this number go up is to make your sequence longer. Are you expecting you sequence to be 77 minutes long?

Hi again,

But the issue is that the "estimated" size changes when i add motin graphics. Is there some way to make it samller, and shoud it be tripple the size? I have not had this issue before the summer, and i have beeing editing large files with mogrts then aswell.

Hi Freya -

The size you show in your picture is not the project size. It is the estimated size of the file that would be written when you exported with those settings. This is going to be determined solely by the length of the sequence you are choosing to export and the settings you choose for the export.

Hi @Theresa Rostek,
The color shift was what got me confused at first, so now I have changed back thank you.

But the issue withe the file size still remains. When I added the motin graphics the file size expanded from 6 to 18 gb. The Mogrts is play as they should, and what I can see and there is no unneccesary mogrts in the "bin".
And even if I delete/clear the graphics (both from the timeline and from the bin) then the projects size is till the same.
I also tired to delete something else, like one of the clips or something other in the project and the size is still 18 444 MB, so maybe the project is broken??

Hi @FreyaSvedberg,

When you say they're highlighted in red, could you explain what you mean? Are your Mogrts playing back as expected?

The screenshot shows the new default label color for AE Mogrts (Rose) which used to be a bubblegum pink color. If this is the case, you can change this back to the way you remember in Preferences > Labels and change the dropdown from Default to Classic.

If not, could you provide a video or screenshots of your entire screen?

While I'm not entirely sure about why your project file is ballooning in size, some Mogrt background info; Mogrts are zipped After Effects projects along with their footage (an .aegraphic) and the archive is usually larger than the Mogrt itself. When you apply a Mogrt to the timeline, it's adding the After Effects project and all of its footage into your Premiere Pro project (a bin in your Project panel called Motion Graphics Template Media will appear and house all the aegraphics).

Are you applying a Mogrt to the timeline, then deleting it from the timeline after not wanting it by any chance? The aegraphic will remain in the bin and with your project. You can delete the Mogrt from that bin to remove it from your project.

If this is not the case, then there may be a bug and we can try to troubleshoot what's going on.

Thanks,

Theresa
