Preview format stuck on Quicktime ProRes 422 LT

I've just noticed that my sequence settings preview file format keeps falling back to Quicktime ProRes 422 LT, no matter what I try to do to change it. Even new sequences with custom settings — selecting any other codec will be ignored and will fall back to QT PR 422 LT when the sequence settings is reopened.

Same here; I’m not sure if this is the reason why my GPU usage spikes to 100% whenever I simply move the playhead back and forth or hit PLAY on the video.

The ProResLT setting is actually one of the easiest on the computer to work with, so it should not be making your system over-work. And the only time it uses previews is if you tell it to use previews, normally it simply uses the original clip.

So if you’ve not specifically told it to make previews, you are not seeing previews.
