Program Monitor/ 'Adobe Monitor 2' never works on launch and needs to be reenabled each time

As per title, whenever I launch Premiere the 2nd monitor is never active for playback and needs me to go back into the settings menu (where it’s already checked) and reenable it to force the monitor to work… this is on 26.3.0 / Tahoe 26.5

I don’t know if I have a USB-C to HDMI but let me see if there’s one in the building

    Hello @Paul_WTVT

Welcome back to the forums. We could use a little more information about the second monitor to help us troubleshoot this issue. What type of monitor is it and how is it connected (HDMI, etc)? Just confirming you are talking about the Playback Preferences “Video Stream” checkmark is unchecked on launch or is it checked and you “reenable” it by unchecking the Video Stream box and then rechecking it? What is the resolution it’s set to in your Apple Display settings? Did you have this issue before 26.3?

Thank you for bringing this to our attention,

    Amy

    Hi there

I’m using an M3 MacBook Pro connected to 2 x HP monitors via a Plugable dock, the computer is attached to the dock with a thunderbolt cable and the monitors to the dock via HDMI, both set to the default resolution of 1920 x 1080, 60 Hertz, HP E23 G4 color profile; the playback monitor is the ‘extended display’ and the edit windows are in the ‘main display’

I relaunched one more time since I posted (to triple check it was still happening, and it was) and noticed when I opened the settings I didn’t even have to recheck/ reenable, simply opening the settings panel and hitting cancel seemed to reestablish the monitor’s connection somehow

I’ve attached a screenshot of the settings/ preference window

I’m not sure if I did have this issue prior to 26.3 (certainly not as often, this is every time I relaunch- have only been using 26 for the past week)

    Very interesting @Paul_WTVT .

I wonder if Premiere is tripping up sending the stream to the monitor or the dock and just opening settings refreshes that connection?

If you’re able to and have the time / resources, is there a way to take the dock out of the equation and use an HDMI to USBC adapter to directly plugin the monitor with the Video Stream? I’d be curious to know at what stage this connection is getting lost.

I’ll reach out to the team and see if there’s a better way to address this issue in the future, but this little bit of information can help.

    Thank you
