Project Manager error 1609498616 persists after moving sequence to a new project

Premiere Pro [26.5.1], macOS [26.6.2] - but the issue was the same on older versions of both

I'm consolidating several projects with Project Manager (Collect Files and Copy) to free up NAS space. A few projects consistently fail with error 1609498616 and nothing gets copied.

What I've tried, none of which fixed it:
- Unchecked Include Preview Files, Include Audio Conform Files and Rename Media Files to Match Clip Names
- Removed macOS screen recordings (VFR H.264)
- Renamed the sequence (its Project panel name differed from its internal name)
- Copied the sequence into a new project and ran Project Manager there
- Removed two clips imported via CC Libraries and their library links
- Deleted all custom text styles
- Cleared old relink history pointing to missing drives
- Removed modified start timecode from all clips

Since it fails even in a fresh project, the cause seems to travel with the sequence. Has anyone pinned down which timeline items trigger this (captions/transcripts, MOGRTs, synthetics, nests)? And is Adobe tracking a fix?

It's just so frustrating to not know for months how to solve this.

Welcome to the Premiere Forums. Sorry to hear about this frustration. We could use a little more information and I have some testing that could be useful. Thank you for sharing the troubleshooting you have already done.

Chip (Mac Only): Specify which M-series Chip or CPU/GPU combo.
Media Storage How are you connected to your NAS and does it require specific permissions?

Can you use Project Manager on a simple sequence with just a few video and audio clips from the Nas?

If you’re willing to share an exported CSV of your Sequence Index for the Sequence that is not properly archiving, that could help us look for any elements that may be tripping it up.

I use Apple M1 Max 64gb shared memory 32 Memory Cores

Connection to the nas doesnt affect this, as I copy the project either to the local SSD or an external exfat drive as this is quicker compared to a 1GBit Lan connection.

Let me know if you’ve received it and if you can successfully use Project Manager in a new project with just a few simple video clips in the timeline, preferably the same clips in your other sequence, freshly imported and just thrown into a new stringout or something. Would be good to know if you can have one successful run with something that should work.
