Proxy remplace with full. resolution problem.. Easy to fix I guess

hello, I'm trying to create a workflow with frame IO and the C2C module, premiere pro has integrated new features which allow proxies to be replaced by real files, everything works well except in one case.

I use a RED DSMC2 camera connected in SDI to an Atomos which sends 1080 files in 25P with audio but when I film in slomotion on my red, the R3D file is a video file WITHOUT audio.

when I try to replace the proxies with the full resolution file, I get an error message which tells me that the audio channels do not correspond and therefore that I cannot link these 2 files..

Can you find a solution or create a way to bypass this error message (which is probably useful sometimes but not in this case). THANKS

I can also choose not to record the audio on the Atomos and this time the slomotions files are reconnected but the situation is reversed, I cannot relink my real speed files from the RED because they have audio and the proxy does not.

Hi, I contacted FrameIO but they told me that the problem must be solved by Adobe (by removing this restriction to relink if the audios are not identical) or Atomos by adding an automatic audio detection system in the SDI track (which seems complex to me)

let me know if a future fix could be considered on your side, C2C seems a great tool but it is optimized only for simple real-time scenarios.

Thanks

Vincent

No, I download the original proxy files

the atomos connect connected in SDI sends files with audio even if there is none (an empty audio channel).
on the other hand my red camera records R3D files without an audio file if it's slomotion.

even if I interpret my proxies in premiere pro to remove the audio, the audio turns into "audio disabled" but this does not allow my video to be replaced with a file "without audio".

I can send you files if necessary to understand but for me the problem comes from Adobe and its limitation to reconnect the proxies to the original files if they are not absolutely identical on the audio level

Hi @
Vincent29662422h6hm,

I see. So, it sounds like you are still having the same problem. That's frustrating because there's nothing wrong with your workflow that I can see.

I'm sorry a developer has not helped out with this case yet. Have you contacted the https://adobe.ly/3AxxxMS support team yet? Let me know what they say. In the meantime, I'll raise the issue with the team. Sorry for the hassle.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi @Vincent29662422h6hm,

The team is trying to understand your workflow better. How are you downloading and working with the files? Are you downloading Frame.io "Proxies" or the "Original" files?

Also, have you reached out to Frame.io Support yet? What do they have to say?

Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks for the comment, @Vincent29662422h6hm. Since C2C workflow is not my forté, I should ask someone from the Frame.io team to respond. I'd also love to bring the Atomos folks into the fray. I'll search for contacts now. I have to ask for your patience while I investigate. Hope that's cool.

Take Care,
Kevin

Hi,

yes I could create proxy presets without audio but the idea of a C2C workflow is to be fast so I wouldn't want to waste time with an additional step of converting proxies.

I think the best would be to be able to bypass the error message and say "I understand but I want to replace these proxies with files whose audio is different".

Thanks

Thanks for the bug report. Have you tried creating any custom proxy presets that can more easily match up with your workflow?

Let me know if you need help creating a custom proxy.
