Responsive Design_Position isn't working

Issue – I cannot seem to get the Responsive Design-Position to work when trying to pin a shape to text. I’ve tried multiple times, restarted computer and Premiere... Steps to reproduce – I create a text layer, inside properties I create a shape and then restack the shape to be below the text. I select the shape and scroll down to RD-P and select the text I want to pin to and hit the PLUS shaped pin to corner button to the right. The X and Y axis numbers change, but the box doesn’t change shape or size and when I type more text the box doesn’t change size to accommodate text. Expected result – The color shape box should change size to the size of the amount of text and change size if text goes beyond border of the box. Actual result – Nothing. The box doesn’t change size. Adobe Premiere Pro version – 26.0.0 Operating system – Mac OS Seq 15.7.3 GPU driver version (Windows only) – If you're on Windows, please let us know what version of the video card (GPU) driver you are using. Video format – it’s a text/shape issue

Same issue here, on a much newer build.

- Adobe Premiere Pro version – 26.5.1 (Build 1)
- Operating system – Windows 11 Pro, 25H2 (build 26200.9457)
- GPU – NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, driver 32.0.16.1062 (2026-06-11)

Steps: created a text layer, added a rectangle below it in the same
graphic clip. Selected the shape, set Pin To to the text layer,
enabled all four edges.

Tried creating the rectangle two ways — with the Rectangle tool, and
from within the Properties panel. Same result both times.

Result: the shape does not resize when the text is lengthened —
W/H stay locked. No blue pin markers appear on the parent layer in
the Program Monitor.

Sorry, I thought this would be an easy one. What I do is format the computer and then do an install of premiere. It always fixes odd problems, but it is a drastic measure to most. Goodluck.

Maybe select all 4 edges on the pinning box?

I’ve tried using the center button and all four corners many times. Nothin.

Welcome to the Premiere community. Thank you for taking the time to report a problem. I am having trouble reproducing this problem on a M3 Max, Tahoe 26.0.2. What are your system specs, and can you provide a sample video of the problem?
