Selector 9 / Error Code 3

I’m experiencing a reproducible H.264/H.265 export problem in Premiere Pro 26.3.2.

On August 19, 2026, H.264 and H.265 exports suddenly stopped working. I had not changed anything in my Premiere projects, and the same projects had previously exported normally.

Error message:
Component: H.264 of type Exporter
Selector: 9
Error Code: 3

My system:

  • Windows 11
  • NVIDIA RTX 5070
  • NVIDIA Studio Driver 610.88
  • Adobe Premiere Pro 26.3.2
  • Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (CUDA)

What I tested:

  • H.264 with Hardware Encoding → fails
  • H.264 with Software Encoding → fails
  • H.265 → fails as well
  • ProRes export → works normally
  • Different projects → same problem
  • Different bitrate settings → same problem
  • Reset Premiere Pro preferences → problem persists
  • Reinstalled NVIDIA Studio Driver 610.88 → problem persists

Important:
The exact same system can export H.264 successfully through Adobe Media Encoder.

I also installed and tested the current Premiere Beta, and H.264 export works there without any problems.

This makes me suspect that the issue is specific to Premiere Pro 26.3.2, rather than my GPU, NVIDIA driver, or the H.264 encoder itself.

Could you please investigate this issue?

I can provide screenshots of the error, project files, logs, or any additional information needed to reproduce the problem.

Thank you.

    Hi @kind_fashion6e87,

Welcome to the Premiere forums. Thank you for reporting this occurrence and providing thorough information, tests and a screenshot. The team has follow up questions and suggestions to try as we investigate:

    1. Re-authentication: Try a complete log out out Creative Cloud, then log back in.
      • This re-authentication has been known to sometimes help.
      • Does an export error still occur?
    2. With Premiere 26.3.2, does exporting via Media Encoder work?
    3. Prior to exporting, try clearing the cache, and disabling 3rd-Party plugins.
    4. Does the issue persist on a new, empty project?
      • Please try importing a clip and try a test export. Adobe’s sample media would work for this test.

Sorry for the frustration and letting us know that Beta seems to be working. We are looking into this!

    Best,

    Jonathan
