Set Poster Frame - how do I get it working again?

For bins with lots of clips in them, Set Poster Frame can be invaluable in quickly seeing which clips are which, as many of the clips I work with start with black, so the default Poster Frame of the first frame of the clip isn’t useful. I used to have no problem using Set Poster Frame. However, now, whenever I try to use it, nothing happens. I upgraded to PP 2026.0.0 and it still doesn’t work. I’m on a MacBook Pro M2 Max 2023 OS 26.3.

It seems that when I set an in point in a clip, it sets the poster frame at the in point. However, I want to  set my poster frame independent of the in point.

    Hi @KazuTa
Welcome to the Premiere community. Thank you for taking the time to report a problem. It would help us if you could use the link " How to Report a Problem," which provides steps to provide more information that can help us identify the issue. Which version of Premiere did you notice that the set poster frame was not working for you? Have you tried setting the poster frame in a brand-new project? Have you tried using the Poster frame on another system? Which media file types do you notice this happening with? So far, I have not been able to reproduce this one.

    Here to help.
