So i bought a new laptop like 3 weeks ago and i downloaded and started using Adobe softwares like photoshop and premiere last week. But now premiere is really bugging and tweaking out. While i was editing a 58 minute video 3 days ago premiere suddenly crashed and made my entire screen including my 2nd monitor black. And after resetting my laptop and stuff, i tried opening premiere again, still crashed everything. So i decided to ask chatgpt for help (idk if thats good, i was desperate and was really shy of using reddit). And with Chatgpt we did multiple things too see if it can help. I tried erasing cache, switching my driver to Nvidia studios, change the path to a separate folder, etc.

While doing those attempts (still failed), i went to see what actually crashed, apparently it was a "LiveKernelEvent 141". After doing similar stuff, I found out that my Adobe and its software was in Onedrive, and i thought that was the issue, and after making a backup of my proj i deleted adobe and its softwares, and changed the location to my drive and made sure that my Onedrive will stop autosyncing files (As what Chatgpt said), and after redownloading everything, i thought everything was fixed since it was running smoothly, BUT the UI is very slow, like everything will start as black boxes and slowly everything will pop up, but after multiple resets, the issues are the blue bar in the timeline is late, the video will turn black after a few seconds of playing and will come back when paused on a single frame and then black out again, re-opening premiere is clunky only when entering an old or new project, and exiting premiere will make everything crash and turn everything black, forcing me to manually shut down my laptop.

So, i turned to reddit to see if anything can help, so far i only saw 2 posts that are similar to my case. One had the solution of opening a new proj and importing the old proj into it, it worked for the OP, but for me, creating a new proj will have the same situation as opening an old one, even uploading an unrelated clip wasn't even working let alone importing the old proj. Two had the OP hold ALT at the stsrt up to reset the pref and plug ins, worked for the OP, but when I did it, still had the same issue, slow UI with the black boxes, late timeline, and crashes everything when closing the proj even when im still in the menu.

If you think its because my laptop can't handle the project size, i highly doubt that. My old PC had a MUCH weaker build than my current laptop and could handle but could handle MUCH more than what I'm currently making.

If anyone could help me, thank you very much, i have been trying to fix this for 3 days and still nothing.

System Specs:

-CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX

-GPU + VRAM: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU + 4GB VRAM (But according to Task Manager its 8GB VRAM)

-RAM: 32GB

Software: Premiere Pro 26.3.0 (Build 93)

    Hi @Dolhpia

Welcome to the Premiere forums, thanks for stopping by! That sounds like a frustrating experience, let’s see if we can get you back up and running. Appreciate all those details about your issue and about your setup as well. I am pretty sure you’re on Windows 11, if you’re using Premiere v26.3, correct? That’s good you’ve installed Nvidia Studio driver, as that is the recommended one.

Few questions to help narrow troubleshooting down:

    1. Have you yet tried disabling ‘GPU accelerated UI rendering?’
    2. Does the black-screen crash still happen with the external monitor unplugged?
    3. Can you check if you happen to have Magnifier enabled? You can check by typing ‘Magnifier Settings’ in the search bar. Right at the top is a toggle for on/off on it. Disable that, if so. We’ve been made aware of Magnifier/Accessibility lag interference that the team’s investigating currently.

Thanks for taking the time to post, and hope we can help!

Try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site. If NVIDIA, do a clean installation of the latest Studio Driver (NOT the Game Driver).

Do not count on Windows to be fully up to date when it comes to device drivers
Go to the vendor site to be sure you have an updated driver for your graphic adapter
There have also been reports in the past that the latest driver is not the best driver

    nVidia Driver Downloads https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

-for all Adobe programs use the STUDIO driver, not the GAMING driver
-To achieve the highest level of reliability, Studio Drivers undergo extensive
-testing against multi-app creator workflows and multiple revisions of the top
-creative applications from Adobe to Autodesk and beyond
    .
If you have a laptop you MAY also need to check for a laptop specific nVidia driver
-SOME laptops require an approved driver from the laptop company, not nVidia
