Some audio channels in project getting unchecked randomly

I have been having this issue when using Premiere Productions. I have found that occasionally certain Waveform clips will randomly have one of the media source channels unchecked (mono audio, seperate channel for each mic). So I have to click the clip, then manually recheck it again so I can hear the audio.

It doesn't seem to be correlated to anything, and it happens very randomly. It is very annoying as sometimes I check the sequence, but when I go to export it, the channel has turned off again and there is no audio.

I've tried clearing the media cache a few times, but it doesn't seem to help long-term. I also can't keep clearing the media cache as it takes a while to build it back up.

This has been happening on all versions of Premiere 2025. I am currently on version 25.1. I am using a Mac with Sequoia.

Thanks for the information @Denise26599370g9oo. Where are the source files and Production project you're working with saved? And what are your sequence audio settings like? If you are willing to share any of the select files this is happening with, the team can take a look and try to replicate the problem. Sorry again for the issue.

Hi Dani,

None of these clips are nested or in multi-camera.

The source file is in another project within the production, and this project with the timeline is linking to that source file in the other project. Only has happened to a select few files, the rest are fine. It also seems to only be the second or fourth channels for the clip.

The project where the source file is normally remains closed, and just the project with the timeline is open.

I am changing the media channels in the working timeline project. If I check the source clips, the audio channels are set correctly and not turned off.

Hi @Denise26599370g9oo,

Welcome to the Premiere Pro forums and thank you for submitting a bug report.

A few questions: Are any of these clips nested or in multi-cams? Is the source file itself within the specific project you are working in, or is it linked to another project within the overall Production? If it's in a separate project, does this happen if that project is also open at the same time as the working project? Where are you changing the media source channels from? Within the sequence timeline track itself? From the source media clip in the Project panel?

Sorry for the frustration, hope we can help you soon.
