something goofy going on with pitch shift

working on a 15 second spot and the audio vo was longer then 15 seconds so I sped it up to 115% to fit into the 15 second total run time. but then i added pitch shift so that the vo didnt sound like a chipmunk but then the pitch shift made the vo sound like the panning was all over the place. Or like it kept alternating from mono to stereo. Its hard to describe. but ive never seen pitch shift do this before. it sounds all over the place, something is very wrong. audio source is an mp3. i converted it to wav but the issue still persisted. anyone else experiencing this? adobe premiere 25.5.0 (build 13). MacOS Tahoe 26.0.1.  (I'm willing to show an example of the issue privately to adobe but cannot post this as a public facing video).

this is happening with the pitch shifter. i have no idea what "maintain audio pitch" is. i havent tested other files today but this has never been a problem in the past. i dont know how to look up sample rate of file. in the bin, the mp3 says "frame rate: 48000 hz". Is that a sample rate? sequence sample rate should be 48000.

Hi @rachelcenter

Thank you for reporting a problem and sorry you're experiencing issues.

Just to clarify, this is happening with the Pitch Shifter effect and not the 'Maintain Audio Pitch' selection under Speed/Duration settings?

Is this happening with any other files? Or just this specific mp3 and wav conversion?

What is the file's audio sample rate? Does it match the sequence sample rate?

Sorry for the frustration,
Dani
