sound not working Premier pro sound works on the clips outside the program, not in the software

Hi all ,

I have been using Adobe Premiere Pro for over a decade. I have a problem I can not fix, I am hoping some one may have a solution. I have tried Many fixes I have found online that do not work.  

I have version 12.3.0 Build 59

My problem: When I load a Video the sound does not work, the video is fine. Also the sound does work when I play the clip out of the program. I have checked many things suggested on help videos.  I am going through a focusrite interface which works as long as I  I am not playing the clip in out of the premiere Program . Any ideas on this??
