Studio Ultra sound output change crashes Premiere Pro

Hello - 

I run PP through a BMD Ultra Studio for A/V monitoring, so i have all my hardware and output settings within PP to the UltraStudio. No issues, BUT if i change my OS audio output source (headphones, studio speaker, airpods) Premiere crashes. Every time. 

 

This is a recent problem as I've been working with this computer for the past few months. I have reset preferences, tried different versions of PP. basically everything except downgrading Sonoma. 

 

Simple work around solution is don't change the OS audio output source but that doesn't seem really practical when i need to monitor computer audio as well and sometimes my airpods just decide to connect and thus crashes premiere pro. 

 

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

What are your Audio Hardware and Transmit settings, in PPro?

Are you following BMD's configuration guidelines?  PPro config starts on page 39:
