The brand new update - 26.2, when working with growing files - only imports the audio - does not recognize the video.

We tried every setting, reset, empty cache, re-install etc.  And it still only imports audio only on growing file.   It only imports the video once the growing video is wrapped. 

We had to revert back to 26.0.2 (build 2) version to make this work for us again.

(it was a ProRes 422 Proxy .mov file if that info is helpful).

Would love this to get fixed for the next version.  Cheers!

      UPDATE:  Unfortunately the fix that we put into 25.6 does not appear to fix the issue for several customers who have reached out.  We investigated and confirmed this issue still needs more attention from us.  We put additional fixes into public beta that fixes the whole problem.  Growing files should now come in with Audio and Video for MOV.  You can test in public beta version 27.0 build 55+.  We will get this fix put into an official shipping version as soon as we can. We apologize for the inconvenience and confusion on this matter.

      I recently updated Premiere and have the same issues. we updated to 26.5.1 and cleared caches but still having the same issue as Edman6796. Is this still being looked at for a fix?

      We put a fix for this growing file bug into 26.5.  Please update and try again. The issue was narrowed down to just MOV wrapped growing files.  These files should now import with video and audio.  Try re-importing files that came in as audio only.  If they still do not contain video, you may need to delete your cache and import again since the broken state may have been stored in the cache.  Lets us know how it goes.

      Hey Francis,  

      Thank you for working through this with us.

      I’ve updated on one of the Mac Studios to Premiere 26.5.  Cleared cache, rebooted and went to bring in our growing file on a current project we’re on and it still only shows the waveform audio, no video - with Softron Media Recorder, but seems to work with Blackmagic Hyperdeck 8K unit.  Details below….

       

      -Primary growing file record is using Softron Media Recorder 4 to capture the growing file and only shows waveform audio.  This captures to a Cloudstore server as a ProResProxy .mov file.

       

      -We also tried it with Softron Media Recorder 5 to capture the growing file and only shows waveform audio.  This captures to a Cloudstore server as a ProRes422 .mov file.

       

      -We also tried this with Blackmagic Hyperdeck units to record the growing file to Cloudstore server as a ProRes422 file to test and this worked!

       

      -Softron Media Recorder ingests still works on 26.0.2 no problem still which is interesting.

       

      Let me know if you have any other suggestions to help making this work with Sotfton, as growing files are a staple of our workflow and our preferred capture method.  Happy to share any more info as needed.

      ​@Francis-Crossman: Even though this post was made a few months ago, I'd like to let you know that we've observed similar behavior in version 26.3.2:

      Issue: When working with growing files, the video screen goes black after a refresh, but the audio can still be heard. Upon the next refresh, the video returns to the current point.

      Steps to Reproduce: 

      • Import a growing file. We use a MOG 4Pro from Mog-Technology (now part of EVS) with MXF-container and AVC-Intra 100.
      • Enable “Automaticall refresh growing files” in preferences or use “Force Media Refres”. 

      Expected Result: Media should grow and video an audio is available

      Actual Result: Media grows but show black video, audio is availabel, after next refresh-operation video is available

      Premiere Version: 26.3.2 (Build 3), bug is not seen in Version 26.2.2, just tested in public beta 27.0.0 Build 21: Bug is fixed as you mentioned.

      Operating System: Mac OS 26.2, MacStudio M2 Max 2023

      Video Format: 1080i25, MXF AVC-Intra 100

      Summary: We're reverting to version 26.2.2.

      The bug was not fixed in 26.3.  It should be fixed in 26.5

      We are still running into this issue and it is impeding our workflow on a weekly basis.  Are others still having issues with this?

      We use Softron MovieRecorder 4.6.7 and the latest release of Premiere, 26.3.2.  We have tried this on a M2 Max laptop and a M1 Mac Studio with the same results.  The growing file will appear as audio only.  The file is ProRes 422 LT .mov

      We have tried MXF instead even though MOV is better for our workflow and the MXF DNxHD 120/145 is extremely lagging in Premiere.  We were going to try XDCAM next with a MXF wrapper.

      We have applied a fix in public beta.  Please try beta version 26.5.0 build 31 or later and let us know if this issue is resolved.

        As far as I can tell all the problems I’m seeing are related to MOV.  If anyone is seeing problems with MXF, please let us know.  This really helps us narrow down the problem and find a fix.  Thanks.

        Thanks.  Are you are using the DV Straus plugin and bringing things in that way?  Is that .mov ProRes?

        Francis from Adobe here.  I have heard reports from other customers that sound like the exact same issue.  ​@Edman6796 ​@IanB_360 ​@jbellomo can you tell me what software / hardware appliance you are using to record the growing files.  Another customer reports this problem using Tools On Air.

        LATEST PREMIERE, i used to be able toinport the contents of a .cmf folder from a GV Stratus server.

        ​@jbellomo thanks for the quick reply.  Can you tell me what specific video format you are recording - the files inside the cmf folder?  I assume MXF Op1a, but want to confirm.  Thanks
