  • Issue – After importing sequences from Premiere project "B" into existing Premiere project "A", the project save path (autosave, capture files, etc.) of Premiere project "A" is redirected to Premiere project "B"
  • Steps to reproduce
    1. 2 Premiere projects are created in different subfolders.
    2. Project "A" is located in the Project A folder
    3. Project "B" is located in the Project B folder
    4. Opening Premiere Project "A"
    5. In addition, Premiere Project "B" opens. A sequence in Premiere Project "B" is copied.
    6. Premiere Project "B" will be closed
    7. In Premiere Project "A", the sequence copied from Project "B" is pasted from memory.
    8. The sequence pasted from project "B" to project "A" opens in the timeline in project "A"
    9. In the sequence in Project A, a short voiceover is recorded
  • Expected result
    • The VoiceOver file is saved in the project "A" /Adobe Premiere Pro Captured and Generated/VoiceOver.wav

  • Actual result
    • The VoiceOver file is saved in project "B" /Adobe Premiere Pro Captured and Generated/Project "A"/VoiceOver.wav
    • This means that VoiceOver files and other project-related files are stored in the wrong directories and may not be found again!
  • Workaround
    • Project "A" must be saved immediately after inserting the sequence from and closing Project "B"!
  • Screen Recording
    •
  • Adobe Premiere Pro-Version
    •  25.5 but also the latest beta version 26.0
in version 24.x it worked without problems
  • Operating system
    • Win 11 Pro 24H2
  • GPU-Treiberversion (nur Windows)
    • NVIDIA 32.0.15.7342

  • Video
    • XDCAM HD 422 MXF
  • Comparative information helps us better understand when the problem occurs:
  • All projects
  • yes
  • ab Premiere 25.x

Hi Lan,

What's the current status? Were you able to reproduce the error? Can we expect a fix in a future update? Best regards, Sven.

The problem also occurs only when I import individual clips from Project "B" into Project "A." As long as I don't save Project "A," all scratch disks for Project "A" are redirected to Project "B," which can lead to serious data loss. Adobe should fix this issue immediately!

best thanks sven

Hi @Svenne
So, the best workaround is to save the project after you copy other sequences into it, correct? Does this only happen when you copy a sequence from another project, or does it also occur when copying media?
Here to help.
