Timeline stops responding a few seconds into starting Premiere (Macbook)

I recently started using the latest version of Premiere Pro and while using it to drag and drop still images and audio, the timeline stops working. Restarting the app works for a few seconds, but the Timeline continues to freeze. 

Everything else in Premiere Pro is semi-responsive, except for being able to play the timeline. 

Specs;
Macbook Pro 19in

2.6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7
AMD Radeon Pro 5300M 4 GB
Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB
32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4

Premiere Pro Version 26.0

The timeline should play, but it's not scrubbing.

The Timeline is unresponsive.
