Transcripts require significant correction before making captions
I find myself correcting a significant number of spelling, grammar, word usage, capitalization and punctuation errors in transcripts before generating captions from them. It’s as if Adobe Premiere has a passing understanding of word recognition but no grasp of actual language: of the way that words and thoughts link together to make meaning. As a result, I have to essentially re-caption my videos before publishing them, which is an enormous waste of time. I spent 25 years in journalism, so I can make the edits quickly, but someone with a strong grasp of the English language really needs to give Premiere some better guidance on how to transcribe spoken, conversational English.
