Translate captions frequently fails

Translate captions works brilliantly, until it doesn't.
I have had several occasions when, having successfully translated some subs, I attempt the same operation on another similar timeline and the operation results in a new empty subtitle track.
The app seems to be going through the motions of creating a translation - the appearance is the same as when it does work - except that when the task is "completed" (the blue message appears) there are no subtitles on the new track.

PP 25.6.3 build 2 running on Mac M4 max. Sequoia 15.6

Any help gratefully received - this is very frustrating as it's great on the few occasions that it works.

@jamieclarke,

the settings is a good question. I don't recall the issue of translation completing and having an empty track. It either completed or more when the issue was Internet or server problems, or other possibilities, that it simply failed to complete usually with an error.

I'm on a cruise and can't test!

Hi @gifted_GemstoneB82D - When you right click on your subtitles to translate the captions I'm wondering what settings you are choosing.  A screen recocording would be great, thank you.

Hello,

I don't think it's an internet problem (my end).  I'm on a wired connection 533Mbps down, 55 up.  Latency 11ms.  I've had no other internet problems.  Also, wouldn't PP let me know if it couldn't contact the server?
I'm not sure what you mean by sharing the exact settings?  Is this a file I can share?
I'll make a screen recording so you can witness it.

Hi @gifted_GemstoneB82D - The Translation is a cloud feature I'm wondering if there is an issue with your internet connection which would explain why sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Can you share your exact settings you are using to translate

Hello, thanks for responding.
I was translating from Portuguese to English.  I did try other languages too with the same result but I can try again and take more careful notes.
It's very hard to give you the steps to reproduce this effect because the problem is intermittent - sometimes it works, another time I will follow exactly the same steps and it doesn't work.
The steps I am using are:
Generate static transcript in Portuguese.
Create captions (subtitles) from transcript.
Translare captions (3 dot menu top right of text window).
As I mentioned before (and in the screen shots).  PP appears to be doing something, but most of the time I get an empty subtitle track.
It's failing about 90% of the time now.

Is there any sort of log file I can provide to assist in debugging?

Hi @gifted_GemstoneB82D -  Thanks for submitting your bug report. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue.

What languages are you translating?

Does this happen everytime you use the translate feature?

Can you list your steps where you are able to reproduce this issue?
