Trim mode broke in 24.5?

Using the roll edit tool I double-click an edit point to activate trim mode. I soon as I start to trim the clips in the preview window become distorted and the function becomes unusable.

Reset preferences √

Deleted all cache files √

I would show you but I got mad and downgraded.

It does still happen in the beta version of PP. But not in 24.4

When in trim mode, the video images in the preview turn into strange split screens. I’m working ProRes Proxy transcodes of anamorphic footage shot with Alexa I believe. 4608 x 3164 (1.5) and my timeline is HD. No other effects on the clips, although I do have some split screens, nests and timewarps in the sequence. technically speaking fairly simple sequences.

See below. this is tame for what happens sometimes. watch the clip on the left. That clip is sized to the clip size and the one on the right is sequence size. Maybe that plays into it. As you see outside of the annoying size of the TC the problem isn't there in 24.4

I'm Kevin from Adobe Support, one of the mods here. Thanks for the bug report and heads up about trim mode. I will try to repro as I am a frequent user of trim mode. I just haven't edited lately. Interesting.

If you have time, try installing the Beta (side by side with v.23.x) and see if the issue is resolved. The team could use more info, however, and. if you could help them with that, you'd be a king. See, How do I write a bug report?

As a mod, and a member of the support team, I will advocate for a fix for the bug. I hope we can help you with it soon. Sorry you got so frustrated.
