UI Slider & Mask Lag in Premiere Pro v 26.0 (Delayed Response / Overshoot After Recent Updates)
Since recent Premiere Pro updates, I’m experiencing significant lag and overshoot when adjusting UI controls. Sliders, numeric controls, and mask handles respond late, then jump unpredictably, making precise adjustments very difficult.
Where it occurs
- Lumetri Color sliders (e.g. Exposure, Contrast)
- Effect Controls panel
- Mask position/shape handles
Behaviour
- Input is delayed when dragging
- Values update suddenly and overshoot
- Issue affects UI interaction, not playback
What I’ve ruled out
- Not related to media performance (proxies make no difference)
- Not RAM or CPU related (32 GB RAM, mid-spec gaming PC)
- Playback resolution, render previews, and timeline complexity do not affect the issue
System details
- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3060 (CUDA enabled)
- Driver: NVIDIA Studio Driver 581.57
- Monitor: 60 Hz
- OS: Windows (64-bit)
Additional notes
- CUDA is correctly enabled and recognised
- Issue persists in new, empty projects.
- Behaviour does not occur in older Premiere Pro versions, suggesting a regression.
Question
Is this a known UI / Effects Engine regression in current Premiere Pro builds, and is there a recommended workaround or fix planned?
