Upgrade to Adobe Premiere v26 Broke Everything

I upgraded to Premiere 26, and it's been disastrous.  It completely broke my system. Most of the time, it just freezes and crashes upon launch. When it does open, and I load a clip, playback is choppy and stuttering. When I attempted to open older projects, the project version conversion process started but then crashed, completely destroying the project file.
