v26.0.1 no dealing well with interlaced footage

  • Issue – Some of my vídeo clips present the “saw pattern” on the image lines across Program/Preview and export
  • Adobe Premiere Pro version – 26.0.1
  • Operating system – Windows 11 Enterprise 25H2
  • GPU driver version (Windows only) – Nvidia Studio Driver 591.74
  • Video format – 1920x1080, 59.94i fps, SpeedHQ Codec + ProRes Proxy Coded
  • Comparative information helps us understand more about when the issue occurs:
    • First project that it’s happening. Worked fine so far, same worklflow for each one.
    • It’s only showing specifically on the SpeedHQ Codec - files from a Vzrt Tricaster TC2. The ProRes Proxy Previews just fine.
    • VLC and other players play the video files just fine. When they are imported to Premiere or Media encoder they start having this issues.

Link for the vídeo after transcoding in Encoder - Same wobbly effect and “saw pattern” I get when on Program/preview or exporting in/from Premiere.

Hi @João G Hipólito,

Thanks for the video — I can see the issue clearly.  The “saw pattern” you’re seeing in Program Monitor and exports looks like a field order or interlacing interpretation issue. Since artifacts only appear with SpeedHQ footage, while ProRes Proxy previews correctly, and other players like VLC show the files normally, this suggests Premiere is misinterpreting the interlaced fields for this specific codec.

I’ve filed a bug so the team can investigate. If you’re able to share a raw clip or two, that would help us test this specific codec. You can DM me if you prefer as well.

A few things to check:

  • Right-click the SpeedHQ clip → Modify → Interpret Footage → make sure Field Order is set to Upper Field First.

  • Confirm your sequence is set to 59.94i and Upper Field First.

  • If the problem persists, try disabling hardware-accelerated decoding in Preferences to see if the GPU decode is causing issues.

These steps usually resolve field order artifacts like combing or “saw” patterns. Sorry for the frustration, I hope we can help soon.

Sent you the files by DM.

Tryed all your suggestions + switching the Nvidia Drivers from Studio to Gaming Driver and the problem persists.

If you create a new project, do the files also cause a problem?

Yes. It’s exactly the same.
