Waveforms only display in stereo sequence when multicam Track 1 is panned to center — any other pan value breaks waveform display

I'm working with dual-mono audio from a Zoom H4n (24-bit / 48kHz stereo WAV), synced into a multicam sequence using Premiere's sync function.

When Premiere brings the WAV into the multicam sequence, it automatically splits the stereo WAV into two separate mono tracks, Track 1 as L and Track 2 as R. These are then panned hard left and right respectively in the multichannel multicam sequence.

The issue: waveforms in the downstream stereo sequence will only display under one very specific condition. Track 1 in the multicam sequence must be panned to center (0), which is incorrect for my workflow. Track 2's pan value appears to make no difference. Under any other pan configuration, including the correct one with Track 1 hard left and Track 2 hard right, waveforms do not display in the stereo sequence at all.

Audio plays back and exports correctly under all configurations. This is purely a waveform display issue that appears to be triggered by pan position on Track 1 of the multicam sequence, affecting visibility in the downstream stereo sequence.

I need the waveforms as a professional to edit and unfortunately this is the bug I deal with constantly.

making almost any changes (outside of just adjusting gain) to audio within a multicam will cause its waveform to stop displaying on the outside. I’ve had this discussion before as well, I personally think it makes no sense to only offer “on or off” but the logic from adobe is that the waveforms will no longer be correct as they’re not generated in real time like that within nests so you should render and replace instead.
