When I add clips and make one or two edits, the clips stop working and do not move on the timeline. I am only able to edit one clip at a time, and after that, the remaining clips become unresponsive. Please help me resolve this issue.

Subject: Timeline Clips Become Unresponsive After Editing

I am facing an issue in Adobe Premiere Pro. After adding clips to the timeline and making one or two edits, the remaining clips stop responding properly. I am unable to move, select, or edit them on the timeline.

At that point, I can work on only one clip at a time. To continue editing, I have to close the project/tab and reopen it again. This issue happens repeatedly and is affecting my workflow.

Please help me resolve this issue. I have attached screenshots for reference.

Premiere Pro Version: 26.0
Operating System: Windows

    Hi @MKE+SPACES

Welcome to the Premiere forums! Thank you for reporting this issue. We need a few more details to help us understand the issue.

    • Operating System: Which Windows version is your system using when the issue occurs?
    • GPU Driver (Windows only): Please let us know your video card driver version.
      • We recommend updating to the most recent version; for NVIDIA users, we strongly recommend the Studio version of the driver.
    • Could you reshare your screenshots? It does not appear that they attached to the post.
      • If possible, could you share a screen record of the issue, with additional context to your workflow?
    • Did you try resetting Premiere preferences? (Hold shift on launch)

Comparing when and where the issue occurs helps us narrow down the cause:

    • Does it affect all projects or only some?
    • Does it affect new, empty projects?
    • When did the problem first begin?

I hope we can help you soon. Sorry for the frustration!

    Best,

    Jonathan
