when I'm trying to choose a font in adobe premiere, it will only let me type 1 letter

I wrote text on screen in premiere. then i went to effect controls to change the font name. So I typed H and it accepted the letter H. but then I tried to type the second letter "u" and it wont show up as I'm typing it. but i clearly have "huben" as a font in the font list within premiere. its not just this font. now I typed in "t" for times new roman (a built in computer font) but now when I type in the letter "i" nothing happens. its almost as if the font list only lets you type in 1 letter and then wont let you type in any other letters to properly choose your font from the list.

Hi all,

A fix is now available in the latest Beta builds, starting in build 25.2.0 x105. Please give the fix a try and let us know if it is working as you expect.

Thanks!
Theresa

When searching for fonts, I can only type one character at a time. The search bar will freeze and I have to click in the box again to be able to type one more letter. And repeat the process until I have what I need.

see annika's note: "This is a known bug". What works on PC doesnt necessarily mean it works on mac

I agree with Ann, it's working well on the beta, Windows 23H2 / 25.2.0 b42

Hi! Sorry you are having this trouble. This is a known bug in the Effect Controls panel we are looking into. In the meantine, please use the Properties panel.

ok i did shift option thing and it didnt fix my issue. that clearing preferences trick almost never fixes the issues I have. now i have to re establish all my settings from scratch. just like how "edit original" command only worked the first time I opened premiere 2025. now all it does is launch After Effects but wont launch the actual project file any more.

Please try resetting preferences. Close Premiere then: stat Premiere and  press hold Shift-Alt (Windows) or Shift-Option on Mac
