When importing R3D files from RED Gemini in Premiere 26, the Output Transform Settings change the gamma curve from Log 3G10 (which is what it's meant to be) to BT 1886

Mac OS Tanhoe and Premiere 2026 26.0.2 build 2. When I import RED Gemini footage the Output Transform Settings gamma curve gets changes to BT1886 from Log 3G10 meaning I can't preview a log image at all which is no good for grading. This is in the raw video settings tab. On the same shoot we used a RED Komodo shooting R3D too and it imports and the gamma curve sticks to LOG3G10 as normal. I installed Premiere 25 and imported the footage and it worked fine so it definitely seems like a problem with Pr 26

If you want a log-view, you need to set for that view.

You have Direct Rec.709 set for your sequence, and input tonemapping is on. If you want to stay with Rec.709, then ...

First, uncheck the input tonemapping in the Sequence …

Second, if you need, check the “Preserve RGB” option to disable CM for this item above in the Source Clip setion.

What is your total color management set to? Screen grabs of the entire Lumetri Settings tab ... the tab named Settings ... would be of best use. That’s where all CM lives now, and we can see if something is set to cause this or if it’s being a bad app for you.

Many of the CM controls are interactive dependent on otheri CM control settings, and that can catch one by surprise at times.

Hey, thanks for the reply! Have added a couple of screenshots of the source and project colour settings from the Lumetri panel here.

    Hi @andrewb38765612

Thanks for submitting your bug report.  A few questions that would help us narrow this down:

    • Were the two cameras set up with the same image pipeline settings in camera? Specifically, was either camera shooting with a LUT applied in-camera, or with different color-space or gamma-curve settings?
    • What firmware version is the Gemini on?
    • Could you share a short test clip from each camera so we can compare how they import?

Please give the team a few more details. Please see: How do I report a Problem?   Sorry for the frustration. Thanks for your patience while we look into this.

    Hey!

The two cameras were set to the same colour space. Although they are different cameras so this might have been ever so slightly different.

Firmware on the Gemini is 7.4.1

Here’s a link to two clips. A001 is the Gemini and B002 is the Komodo - https://f.io/V-bXSNRk also in here I've put in a screen recording of what’s happening on my end. This only seems to be a problem in Prem 26, I've reinstalled Prem 25 and it imports fine.

Let me know if you need anything else :)
