XML Import Issue: Norwegian Characters Replaced with Symbols and Numbers

I have encountered an issue with Premiere version 25.4 and 25.4.1. When importing XML files, Norwegian characters such as Æ, Ø, and Å are not preserved in the clip names. Instead, these characters are replaced with numbers and special symbols. (See attached screenshot).

Updating Status to Fixed in 25.6.1

The team was aware of this issue, and it has been fixed in Premiere Pro beta version 25.6.0 build 78 and later. The fix will be included in the next stable release, 25.6.0.

This also happens with XML's coming from Davinci Resolve.

Hi,

My OS is not set to have an English keyboard, so that is not the issue.

The XML was created in CatDV (Final Cut Pro 7 XML). @IanB_360 I just sent you the XML-file via direct message.

I hope Neil's suggestion is helpful. What program was used to create the XML you are importing? Could you share the XML with us via direct message? We can take a look at it.

Is your OS set to have say an English keyboard? Premiere might be mapping those keyboard items to the current language keyboard ...
