AI features do nothing

I'm encountering a couple issues.  

Anyone else on an an M1 Mac noticing that none of the Generative AI features work at all?  Like, there isn't any notification saying "this feature isn't available" or "unable to…" or anything.  No progress bar or indicator that stalls, literally just nothing happens.  Am i the only one that's happening to?  

Plus, 50% of the time I do a "replace object…" it's another instance where nothing happens.  It's not a full crash, because I can still click on menus and palettes, just nothing that would actually trigger an action within the document.  

Any ideas?
