Problem Changing Textures and 3d model converted magically to a folder....

Dear Team of Adobe ,

I updated adobe 3d stager to Versión 1.2.0-20220421.r_steam.7132-804036e , and now, when i change a texture from a 3d model, the software uses a lot of time to show the paremeters of new applied texture, arround 10 o 20 seconds,  the previous version runs ok and is the same scene.

Another strange and magically event is: If I do the action of copy and paste a model, for example a Cube and I undo de copy, some times and few loong seconds later ... the deleted obect is tranformed in a folder...  🙂

I work with a  rxt3080 and a Intel 10980xe with 96Gbytes of Ram,

Thanks in advance.

Lu.

We have a fix for copy/pasting models missing from files after save and re-load.  This will be available in the next release, which we plan to push in the next week or two.

I have to remind myself to never use undo - it seems to completely mess up the file. I'm also experiencing models, even simple ones such as cubes, converting to folders and disappearing (although the gizmo is still in the location if I select the folder in the sidebar) when I save and reopen a file. Seems to happen most often on duplicated models, or if I hit undo, or if I have put items in a filder I have created. Makes working in Stager very unreliable. Apple 5k 2019 i9.

Yeah using undo, duplicating things, switching between cameras, all of these actings are causing way too much program instability and unsavable crashes. Really hope that's addressed soon.

Yes Ares, sometime happens me too, if the scene or model is complex.. "Undo" do no respond, or the software crashes.

I also want to add that UNDO hangs app. It depends on complexity of model

    Hi,

    I reply by order:

1-Does this happen on all new scenes and all times you add new textures?

It happens with a "complex" scenaries with a 3d model like a car and another 3d objects. When I change a texture the delay is long. And if i do a undo action, Adobe Stager start to "thinking" to come back the previous texture, and some times nothing happens. I detected the delay when the scene uses a lot of memory ( log textures, complex objects, refletions, etc..)

2-Are you using raytracing on in the viewport while changing?

    Yes.

3-Are you using Substance materials and changing parameters or are you using a custom material and adding textures?

    Yes

    Hi Lu!

Can you maybe provide a bit more information on the issue with the textures slowing down?

    • Does this happen on all new scenes and all times you add new textures?  Or was it more of a one time/one day issue?  When we have a new release sometimes we update the shader system and the first time you're combining textures it has to generate the new textures, so there will be some delays while they generate.  Once they're saved though it will be faster the next time.
    • Are you using raytracing on in the viewport while changing?
    • Are you using Substance materials and changing parameters or are you using a custom material and adding textures?

If possible can you also get your application log file?  It's in the Help > Get Logs menu item and can give us more details about what's going on.

    Cheers!
