CTI jumping with text / transcript search

Hi all,

Many of you must have run into this maddeningly specific bug -

Whenever I splice a clip and the text panel is open with something typed into the transcript search bar, my CTI will jump ahead randomly in the timeline.

Something to do with the transcript scanning for terms as the same clips are cut, but I haven't found any good solve for it outside of either closing the text panel or clearing the transcript search bar, both of which I'd be using.

To make it all the more persistent, the search criteria in the transcript search bar carries over across all open sequences, so one must type - delete - and retype if going back and forth between sequences.

Would love to see this little quirk fixed or a good solve,

PP 24.3.0

Thanks,

Sam

@SamsKlamm,

Yes, see this post:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-bugs/text-searches-persist-across-sequences-and-clips-causing-unexpected-jumps-around-timeline/idi-p/14185363

As @kit.kohler says, the jump is to the next instance of the search. If you cut right on a search instance, it does not jump, it stays on the current find.

And yes, present in the latest Beta 24.4.0.1.

Moved to beta forum as 24.3 is still in beta (however today Premiere upgraded to 24.4)
