When I try to track an object using the object mask tool it gets stuck on initializing. The version use is Premiere Beta 25.5.0.012

When I try to track an object using the Object Mask tool, the process gets stuck on “Initializing” and never progresses.

I’m currently using Premiere Pro Beta version 25.5.0.012 on macOS Tahoe 26.5.

I haven’t had any issues using the Object Mask tool on this computer previously, so this seems to be a new problem.

So far, I’ve tried the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Nested the clip
  • Cleared media cache files
  • Created a completely new project
  • Restarted my Mac

Unfortunately, none of these steps resolved the issue. The Object Mask tracking still remains stuck on “Initializing.”

Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a workaround?

      It works now for me with the Premiere Beta build 023

      Sorry for the delay, but Premiere Beta build 023 should now be on Creative Cloud for download. This build 023 should have Mask tracking working again.

        yeah it’s fixed but it destroyed all my timeline gotta restart the project almost from scratch.. but at least tracking works this time

        Have the same problem. After last update 26.5 it’s not tracking at all.

                I faced the same problem, when I switched over to the 2026 Version it was all just fine and I could continue on beta after saving. Hope this may help!!

                    There were some recent changes that affected Mask tracking in Beta. These issues were just resolved and Mask tracking should be working again in 26.3 Beta build 017. Sorry for the disruption.

                    Dear Sir, If i am not wrong we are already one 26.5 version that released on 27th may last month. But this issues still exists. Please look into these matter.

                      Apologies, there were issues getting updated builds posted to Creative Cloud. Premiere Beta build 023 should now be posted today (June 4) that should have Mask tracking working again.
