Are you are on a coprporate or school account the link sharing function may be turned off by your admin. I logged out of my company account and opened the file with my personal account and was able to create a link with no problems.

Okay, I think I figured out what the issue is...at least what my issue was. I was using my company's Adobe account to build the file. Then when I went to share it, because my company IT/admin has external link sharing privleges turned off I was not able to create a link with my company account. So I exported the file, signed out of of my company account and signed back in with my personal account, opened the file with that account, then was able to export the link/QR code. It works great.

So if you are on your company's account or on an educational account through a school your link sharing privleges may be turned off. Hope this helps. Adobe does not offer this as a potential reason for this problem and it took a lot of digging and trial and error on my part to figure it out.

A couple things to check

  1. You are using the latest version of Aero? Latest release is 0.23.4 (126)
  2. You haven't run out of Creative Cloud storage space?
