On a Solaris server I am trying to patch a CF11 Update 7 instance to Update 8. Another development group updated all the other instances except the two I work on without talking to me first. On one of my CF instances the update page I see the following error:The web site you are accessing has experienced an unexpected error. I'm working on proof of concept of making my app more scaleable and reducing the support footprint on OS patching.I'm trying to take a CF11 Enterprise generated WAR file, and deploy it onto an Azure Tomcat 7 web app. I've never deployed CF apps on J2EE before, so I'm not sure if my problems are user error, or attempting the impossible.I can fire up Azure, deploy a Tomcat 7 server, and put a (non CF) war up in the webapp folder, and watch it deploy and become usable.  But when put the CF war up, it explodes the directory out properly, but then refuses to run the web app.So I installed a local x64 copy of Tomcat 7.0.50 (same version as Azure) and tried the same thing. Locally, the sample WAR files worked fine (non CF), but when I tried a war produced by the Administrator on CF11 - the one page index.cfm (with only a cfdump in it) fails.Near as I can tell, it has to do with the web.xml generated by CF 11 Package and Deploy wizard. Ok, so I've got a strange problem that I've been beating my head against for over a week now.  I'm holding out a little hope that maybe someone here has seen something like this and has a solution or at least can point me in a direction to make some sense of it.We are running an enterprise application on CF9 currently.  Recently we made a large update with some advancements and in part of the advancements I'm using some request scoped variables.Said request variable is a structure that is set in Application.cfc OnRequestStart.  Randomly since the changes have been put on our production servers we get an error email (we have an error handler defined to capture and email errors when they occur), stating that key.subkey is undefined in request scoped variable.  What makes this so bizarre is in the email from the error handler (that is processed in the same request) shows the key.subkey existing in the request scoped variable in a <cfdump var="#request#"> in the e

Hi. I am trying to understand how to use a very simple shopping cart in Cold Fusion, but am having a hard time. Yesterday morning I updated CF11 to update8, on a windows 2012, iis 8 box.As I was reviewing one of my application logs, I noticed that from the time the server updated and forward that one of my values went blank.CGI.http_URL was tracked on session start as part of my marketing logs.  It is no longer tracking as of Update 8.  I have tried to rollback to update 7 but that did not resolve my issue.Upon googling, I see that this use to be an issue that was fixed and appears to have returned with the new Update.Bug#3758070 - CGI.HTTP_URL Missing when using IIS Obviously there must be something else that the CFAdmin rollback feature didn't roll back.Is there anything that can be manually updated until its fixed again?Steve

First off is connecting to Exchange 2013 supported by either ColdFusion 11 or ColdFusion 2016?  If so what are the steps to getting cfexchangeconnection to actually connect?  Our current setup is CF11 and Exchange 2010, and everything is working as expected.  I can connect, fetch calendar events, read email, move email to other folders, etc. I know there are some special settings on Exchange and IIS and OWA to be set, but what are they specifically?  Is there some sample code of how to get cfexchangeconnection going?  What's with the form based authentication?  What's the default URL for form based authentication on OWA for Exchange 2013?  Help!

I am using the ColdFusion Administrator to download and install the hotfix.I am using the built-in server for ColdFusion Administrator (not IIS).It fails every time, just as it does in CF 10 and CF 11.I have installed ColdFusion 2016 using their best practices / lockdown guide.ColdFusion 2016 is installed into a dedicated partition and the account the service runs as has full permissions on that entire partition.The Summary says it's Unsuccessful, with 6 NonFatalErrors and 6 FatalErrors.I get 6 copies of:Moving files failed:: Failed to back up the previous hotfix files. Hi There Have loaded CF 2016 server on a test PC to test the impactof upgrading of our website from CF10, however when defining an ORACLE 11.gdata source am getting this error. I have been tasked with upgrading our web servers from Windows Server 2008 to 2012. As we are not upgrading our ColdFusion version, is it possible to use the same licenses on the new servers? If so, would we be able to have 2 instances of the license operating for a month long period in order to migrate? We have 4 servers in total, 2 running CF11 Enterprise (production), and 2 running CF11 standard (test).

I am running a Coldfusion application for over 10 years and just upgraded to coldfusion 2016.  Now I am getting strange results.  I have a query that uses values from another query and it says the first query is not defined.  I can get it to work sometimes if I do a cfoutput first but not always.  Also, if I print a value from the first query multilple times, the first time in may be blank and the second time it returns the value.  If I do it 4 times, every other output is correct.  This only starting happening with the latest release.

I'm building a highway noise barrier inventory tool that will allow people to search all the current highway noise barriers in the US by state, type, material, etc (I know, I know, exciting stuff).I'm needing to slice and dice the data many different ways, so I'm using cffunctions and cfcs.  I've found out that it works better to have a function for each thing I want to call, rather than trying to stuff it all into a two or three huge queries.  This has worked well, except for one place, where I have a list of barriers by state and year, and within each record, I have to grab all the materials.  This is sort of a query in a nested loop, and as such, is SLOW.I solved the speed problem on another page by just running one bit cached query at the top of the page, then doing this:<cfset qgetMaterialsbyID = structNew()><cfloop query="qgetallbarriermat">    <cfset qgetMaterialsbyID[qgetallbarriermat.barrierid[qgetallbarriermat.currentRow]] = qgetal

When attempting to send an email to multiple recipients using Cold Fusion, only the first row is receiving the email and it seems to be being hit three times but only sending once. Having trouble connecting to a remote Solr instance.  Both servers are CF11.  Server A runs Solr locally and has several collections on it.  I want to connect to those collections from Server B. I keep getting the error Cold Fusion Serivce is not running.Is there a guide on how to set this up?
