Working on a ColdFusion app that would let designated users add/delete members of Distribution Groups in AD. Have run into a problem with the way our AD is set up.Our company and AD is divided up in what we call regions, so within AD, users are members of the group that corresponds to their region. The problem is all the Distribution Groups are listed under the root domain users group, so the idea of being able to filter distribution lists based on the region of the user just went out the door. Additionally, within each region, we have facilities (hospitals) and all the distribution list names begin with the facility names and they vary in length. For instance, within the Oahu region, we have facilities name Leahi and Maluhia, distribution lists for those facilities begin with the same name.My dilemma is trying to figure out how to filter the distribution lists a user has access to.From AD I can get the users region, i.e. Oahu, I can then use that to populate a pull down menu from a SQ
ConfigurationCF 9.0.0.251028Oracle 11GWindows Server 2008 R2 SP1 hosted remotely. Virtual Server with 100 users. Normal only 5 or 6 on at a timeColdfusion serving from c:\inetpub\wwwroot\application_nameDocuments stored S:\docs (same server virtual drive)34000 docs in 3300 folders total size including not indexed docs is about 45 gigs (PDF, HTM, Txt, all variances of MS Office Docs, RTF)Collection indexing taking days instead of hours and it does not seem to matter if it is verity or solr. Resourse monitor shows solr create the cache and it flat out blazes through doing that, but the only indication I have of it ACTUALLY doing anything after is 50 to 70% cpu usage.I increased the buffer to 80 but I am at a loss on speeding this process up.Any help will be greatly appreciatedThanks,Wil Hale
We're looking at bringing up a test LDAP server, something that would not sync with our current domain, just a stand alone device for ColdFusion LDAP application development. I was hoping to get some input from the forum on any experience members may have with products like OpenLDAP, Apache DS and such.Mahalo
We have 32bit CF10 running on Win 2003 32bit. We built a new server to replace the old one and need to install 64bit CF10.We originally purchased an upgrade license from CF8 Standard to CF10 Enterprise. The installer accepts our CF10 Enterprise license key,but will not accept the original CF8 key as the "Previous version".Has anyone encountered this issue? Thanks!
I have posted this issue in the Solr sub-community, but I also noticed that there is basically zero activity there (first post in 8 months, no answers to other posts), so I am re-posting my issue in the main CF forum.I am having difficulty getting categoryTree to populate with cfindex. I have created the collection with categories enabled, and the category column does indeed get populated. But try as I might, I cannot get the categoryTree column to populate. My indexing code is as follows:cfindex( type="custom", autoCommit=true, collection=arguments.collectionName, action="Update", key=arguments.key, title=arguments.title, body=arguments.body, custom1=arguments.custom1, custom2=arguments.custom2, custom3=arguments.custom3, cus
I have inherited a website which I am currently migrating to CF11 from CF8.The issue I am having is with xforms. The website is using NimoiXForms. I have setup all the mappings in ColdFusion Administrator, so it looks to be a code error. I know its old but does anyone know if its compatible with CF11 or can point me in the right direction. Here is the error:Error Occurred While Processing RequestAn error occurred while Transforming an XML document. Cannot create an attribute node (iteration) whose parent is a document node. I have a question regarding CF10, CFMAIL and JVM settings. We have dedicate CF server with 16GB memory that acts as a feeder to PowerMTA (SMTP).There is nothing else on the server - CF10 ENT only. We send CFMAIL in a loop to app. 100,000 with content size of app. 25K. We are spooling the mail to memory.I was wondering what the best JVM settings would be for this config. With 16GB - what settings would you recommend?-Xms1024m -Xmx1024m-XX:PermSize=1024m -XX:MaxPermSize=2048mAlso, any garbage collection settings you would add to ensure no Out Of Memory errors?

I have a web service that I have working on our dev and test servers. Now I'm trying to deploy it to production. We have an external prod server in a DMZ that calls the web service on our internal prod server. We only have port 443 open in the firewall between these two servers (not port 80). I am able to do a <cfhttp> call to the WSDL over 443 and get back the xml. I've even able to pass the method and parameters through the <cfhttp> call and get back the result I'm looking for:<cfhttp method="get" url="https://app-int.phs.psu.edu/standard/date_function.cfc?WSDL&method=getNthDayOfMonth&dtMonth=#Now()#&intDayOfWeek=1&intNth=4"><cfdump var="#cfhttp#">However, if I make the web service call using <cfinvoke> I get the following error:<cfinvoke webservice="https://app-int.phs.psu.edu/standard/date_function.cfc?WSDL" method="getNthDayOfMonth" returnvariable="dtMaintenance"> <cfinvoke

I am currently testing our website with CF11. It is currently working with CF8 however after migrating it to a new server running CF11 I have encountered the following error. The value returned from the load function is not of type numeric. Does anyone have ideas?
related to my earlier slow solr post. Running a refresh on the first file then an update on all others. Recurse may not be necessary.cfindexaction=refreshcollection="this_name_solr"key="c:\inetpub\wwwroot\myappname\thefolder\thesubfolder\thefile.ext"type="file"urlpath="http://#application.root#/appname/thefolder/thesubfolder/thefile.ext"extensions=".html, .htm, .xls, .xlsm, .doc, .docx, .pdf, .txt"recurse="yes"status="alldocs"language="English"Does fine until it hits a corrupt PDF File. If I try to open the file manually in PDF reader I get the message that the file may be corrupt.I need it to get past this file and continue indexing the rest. I have tried a request timeout of three minutes but that does not work. I have attempted CFPDF Info extraction but it hangs reading it too. I do not know how to test the doc to see if it is corrupt.Ultimately I would like it to give up on the file after about 3 minutes.Any suggestions
So I am having all sorts of difficulty getting ColdFusion 9 to load the administrator page on IIS 8 in Windows Server 2012 R2. I saw CF 10 has this compatibility but I was unable to find a CF 9 Support Matrix. The Web Configuration Tool can not finish because there is a IIS compatibility issue and when it tries to restart IIS the process fails and indicates that IIS is version 8.x and the config tool is good for 4.x, 5.x, 6.x, and 7.x. Has anyone had to accomplish this yet for a client? Currently I am getting Service Unavailable HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable.
This is my query i'm doing here: SELECT * FROM DB_NAME WHERE 0=0 <cfif arguments.NAME is not ''> AND NAME_FIELD = <cfqueryparam value="#arguments.NAME#" null='#ListFindNoCase("NULL",arguments.NAME)#'/> </cfif> </cfquery>The resulting query ends up beingSELECT *FROM DB_NAMEWHERE 0=0AND NAME_FIELD = ''instead of beingSELECT *FROM DB_NAMEWHERE 0=0AND NAME_FIELD is NULLI am currently working in Coldfusion 9.
I'm working on updating some apps we currently use for AD user maintenance. i.e. add new users, unlock accounts, reset passwords, etc.)We use cgi.auth_user and then parse that to get the domain and userid of the Windows user accessing the app. We then take the user id portion of that and use that as the filter in a cfldap query. that pulls attributes we use to control access, and timestamp transactions. That cfldap query is included in a number of pages throughout the app and I wanted to move that to either the Application.cfm file, or create a .cfc file (something we're not currently using) and put it there. We're on ColdFusion 11, are there advantages/disadvantages to either of these methods?Mahalo;Charles
Can anybody please help me to understand the cost and process to get ColdFusion 9 extended (paid) support as Adobe ended version 9's support on 31st Dec 2014.
Hello, everyone,I'm curious to know (this does not currently affect anything I'm working on.. I'm just curious) if there is a way to detect if a scoped variable (like "session.username" or "request.dsn") value has been corrupted? Or if the variable, itself, has been corrupted?V/r,^_^
I am having a problem with restarting the ColdFusion 10 Application Server.Normally this happens onze a year and restarting the service resolves it.
I was able to successfully install the CF server. However everything was going fine until I edited a cfm file and then saved it through dreamweaver. Now I am getting a 500 Internal error when I try to pull it up. I am running Windows Server 2008 with IIS 7.5 and CF10 Ent.I have been editing and saving pages for a while with no issue until now. I tried restarting the server, CF Service and resetting the app. Any idea what this could be? thanks!!!!

We are running several instances of CF within our environment, and they all live within their own directory on the web server root. I am trying to create a /global-resources/ directory, also on the main website root, that will be accessible by all of them. I have created the directory and files, added a CF mapping, and set up a virtual directory mapping. The CF mapping is working correctly - I can include a .cfm file from the /global-resources/ directory without any problems. However, when I try to use the virtual directory mapping to call CSS and JS files, I am getting back 404 errors. Looking at the browser console, it is looking for the files inside the individual application I am in, rather than on the web root. Is it possible to do what I'm talking about? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
I'm using CF10. I have several domains on the same Linux Centos Server. When I call one domain thru http, it is going to another domain on the same server. The first time called, it opens correctly. After that it is going to another folder an picking up the index page.If I rename the index page to indexx.cfm and call it up it works fine.If I restart the server it works for a few minutes then starts opening the wrong domains index.cfm.This is only happening on one domain. Other work fine.Double checked the httpd.confDouble checked the DNSRebooted httpd (several times)Rebooted CF (several times)Rebooted ServerI've had a couple folks look over my shoulder for obvious mistakes. The same file in the same folder with two names the indexx works the index sometimes actually most of the time goes to a different folder and picks up the index.cfm
