Feature Request: Search by location

Can we please get location tagging on individual photos? If a photographer is geotagging their photos already, please allow that location to appear in the search. Or, allow a contributor to add the location data.

Since the search functionality in Stock is less than stellar, at least a location tag would help. When searching for a specific place, it can currently take hours and then I often have to fact-check the location using external tools to verify accuracy. This process takes so much extra time for people who are licensing the photos.

For example, when looking for photos of Mexico City the search returned all sorts of results that were not actually Mexico City. Having to verify search results using web browser tools is not a good user experience

I'm not a contributor, so I have to wonder if Adobe has any training resources for keyword tagging or if contributors are just doing asset dumps because it's easy for them to do so.

It's a bit of that. You can upload a skyline, and the keyword generator suggests numerous irrelevant keywords. If the contributor does not clean up work, those keywords unfortunately stay in the database. So keywords may designate a picture as being in Copenhagen, Paris, London, and Madrid at the same time, which would only make sense for illustrations showing the typical skyline of them all. (So in some very narrow cases, it makes sense).

Well, then, this information should be added to the database. We should also be able to see the other metadata that you can access after downloading a preview or after licensing by right-clicking to get (Mac) before downloading the asset. Yesterday I found a good candidate for the photo spec I was researching and when I did a Google Lens search to fact-check the image the asset label did not match with the search. Upon further inspection, the keywords included multiple places listed, none of which were accurate.

This information is not part of the database. If you are searching for Mexico City and you get results that show a different city, that means that the contributor did put in the wrong keywords. You can denounce that picture in this forum.
