Editable graphics in Photoshop from firefly creations.

Adobe firefly can create graphics and has a photoshop open button, however none of the layers (graphics, texts, colors, etc.) are editable. I was really hoping it would be, both for the web version and desktop version of Photoshop. Or at least have magical layers tool like Canva does (that thing works pretty well).

    Hi old account_dom!

Thanks for sharing your feedback. Currently, when you generate graphics in Firefly and open them in Photoshop, the output is flattened, meaning individual elements like text, shapes, and layers aren’t preserved as editable components. This is why you’re not able to directly modify things like text or colors as separate layers after opening the file.

At this time, Firefly doesn’t support exporting designs with fully editable layers or a “magical layers” breakdown similar to Canva. Edits and refinements typically require using Photoshop tools such as Generative Fill, selection tools, or manual layer reconstruction.

This request would be a significant improvement for workflows like yours. We’ll be sure to share this feedback with the product team.

We appreciate you taking the time to highlight this. It’s insights like these that help shape future updates.
