Firefly changed my gender, race & showed more bare chest... really?

I wanted a quick update to my profile pic. So I asked for some modest updates. Instead Adobe (Firefly) decided not to listen to me or anticipate this most basic of requests from its user, and went ahead and showed me what I needed instead, a new gender, more bare chest and some ethnicity suggestions as well!

Is this the best your smart AI can do?

Do your developers routinely take simple requests and make them pointlessly complex? I think they do... Is that why Adobe has become a laughing stock? Helllo... QuarkXPress... remember them? Unless your products are immediately useful all the stuff you push at people is wasted Adobe. And newcomers are right around the corner ready to make you irrelevant, regardless of how big youve become.

Hi @defaultapyoja78bhbs,

The model does not understand negative prompting. Telling it not to do something will not work. Using "caucasian man" or "caucasian male" in your prompt would lilely prevent it from changing the subject to a female or to another race/ethnicity, but it would not necessarily still be you. The Firefly model is not designed to make changes to an image while "preserving" the essence of an individual.

My best,

Cheers Droopy thx for the response, its the fact it made me a girl, undid my blouse and gave me an ethnicity upgrade that surprised me. Does it not understand basic commands or CONTEXT?

Hello @defaultapyoja78bhbs,

Thank you for your message.

Firefly is not a good tool to use to make changes to a person and have that person be recognisable as the same person after generation. A composition reference and syle reference are guides in Firefly's creation, but you will not get the same person that is reflected in the reference images regardless of prompt. You would need to use a tool like Photoshop to accomplish what you mention in your prompt, but AI in Photoshop will not be able to do it alone.

My best,
