Kling Video Generation model should include option to upload reference video to control motion.

As a video editor/creative director, I am requesting the ability to upload a reference video (driving video) to control the motion of the generated AI output in the Kling model.

  • The Goal: I want to upload a static character image (or image-to-video) and a separate video file that dictates the motion (e.g., a person walking, dancing, or gesturing).

  • The Feature Needed: A dedicated "Motion Reference" upload slot that extracts body dynamics, hand gestures, and facial expressions from the reference video and applies them to the generated character, similar to a "motion transfer" or simplified motion capture workflow.

  • Why this matters: Currently, text-to-video prompting is too imprecise for complex choreography or specific performance acting. A motion reference option would enable:
    1. Precise, believable physical movement.
    2. Consistent performance across multiple clips.
    3. A significant reduction in prompt editing time.

Workflow Example:

  1. Upload Character Image A.
  2. Upload Reference Video B (person walking).
  3. Model generates Character A walking exactly like Video B.

    Hi Adorabe_Love!

Thanks for sharing this detailed request. It’s a really compelling use case.

We understand the need for a “Motion Reference” input to guide character movement more precisely, especially for workflows involving choreography or performance-driven animation. Your idea of combining a static character with a driving video for motion transfer is a powerful concept.

While this capability isn’t currently available in Firefly/Kling, we’ll share your feedback with our product team as we continue exploring ways to improve control, realism, and creative workflows in video generation.

We appreciate you outlining the workflow and benefits so clearly. It’s incredibly helpful. If you have more examples or use cases, feel free to share!
