Open a selected image over a new page with a solid background

This layout for displaying a close-up of one generated image and the thumbnails of the quartet of generated images would be dramatically improved if the new display appeared over a solid background instead of appearing over the original screen. It is difficult to judge images with so much visual clutter surrounding them.

    After images are generated, clicking one to enlarge it, would be good to further mute the background behind the enlarged image. With a complicated set of similar images, I find the background images tend to bleed into the enlarged image, making the latter harder to evaluate.
