Bring Adobe Express-Style Templates + Lightroom Integration to Premiere Pro Mobile
Feature Idea: Bring Adobe Express-Style Templates + Lightroom Integration to Premiere Pro Mobile
Loving the direction of Premiere Pro on iOS so far, but I think there’s a huge opportunity to unlock the next level of mobile creation inside the Adobe mobile ecosystem.
In my volunteer activities, I work with teens to develop social media to further a 501C3's mission. Though our sotware is available for use, the teens gravitate to Capcut when producing a video reel for Instagram.
Right now, creators who want fast, polished, social-first video edits are flocking to CapCut because of its built-in templates, automated editing flows, and ease of use. Meanwhile, Adobe Express already has incredible templates, brand kits, fonts, motion graphics, and quick-edit tools — but they live in a different silo and don't fully address or compete with the automated editing flows that Capcut presents.
The Express team might be targeting templates--but their video templates on Express need quite a lot of work. They're mostly static and have a few animated pre-sets for branded video-brochures that don't really keep up with the complexity that specialized apps like Capcut can provide on their templates, and if we're going to compete head to head with Capcut, we need Premiere to be the headline app.
The Opportunity
If Premiere Pro Mobile could tap into the same template engine and design system as Adobe Express, we’d get:
- Instant social-ready video templates (Reels, Shorts, TikTok, Stories, YouTube, etc.)
- Brand kits + saved styles that travel across Express → Premiere
- Faster editing for creators, educators, coaches, marketers, and teams
- A true competitor to CapCut — but powered by Adobe quality + pro tools
Premiere would remain the pro tool — but with Express-style speed and polish layered on top.
One More Gap: Lightroom Integration
For creators who shoot both photo + video (a huge % of Adobe’s active users), the absence of Lightroom integration in Premiere Pro Mobile feels like a missed opportunity.
Imagine:
-
Your Lightroom albums (photos + video clips) accessible directly inside Premiere Mobile; they've already been cleaned up on mobile or desktop and are ready for preime-time in Premiere Mobile
-
A pathway that encourages creators to store and edit media in Adobe, not on-device or in iCloud/Google. This could be a driver for Lightroom cloud storage adoption — especially for mobile-first creators.
In short:
Bring Express templates + brand assets into Premiere Pro Mobile, and connect Lightroom as the media hub. This would give creators a single, powerful, Adobe-native workflow that’s fast and professional — and keep them within the Adobe ecosystem instead of defaulting to CapCut.
Would love to see this come to life — it would be a game-changer for so many of us creating daily content on the go.
