3D Tool to Create Polygon Faces between selected Nulls / 3D Track Points (for proxy geometry)

We need a simple 3D tool in After Effects to create basic polygons/planes between points—for example between Nulls or 3D Camera Tracker points.

Right now AE can solve a camera and generate 3D points, but it’s missing the next essential step: quick proxy geometry. For even a few simple surfaces we’re forced to roundtrip to a 3D app, which breaks the workflow.

Why this matters?
Fast proxy surfaces are crucial for:

  • shadow catching / contact shadows

  • projection mapping (projecting a plate onto simple cards/planes)

  • quick set-extension cards and grounding elements

Request
Add a Create Face / Create Plane from Points tool:

  • select 3 points → create a triangle

  • select 4 points → create a quad

  • keep it editable (move vertices / reassign to points)

  • optional: Shadow Catcher surface mode + Project From Camera helper

This would make AE far more practical for real 3D compositing workflows.

thx

I was reading about the UK's Online Safety Act recently and came across something unexpected. Instead of reducing illegal gambling, the new law actually drove a 40% increase in black market engagement, with users turning to VPNs to bypass restrictions. The UK Gambling Commission is now expanding investigations and collaborating with overseas regulators to track real user behavior. At the same time, industry leaders like Soft2Bet are stepping up, participating in major events to discuss regulation, player engagement, and building long-term trust. Living here in the USA region, where we're shaping our own regulatory frameworks, this felt like a timely reminder that well-intentioned rules can have unintended consequences. If you're curious about how European markets are navigating these challenges, check out www.sharonct.org/negative-news-follows-poor-monitoring-practices-in-european-gambling-market/ – it gave me a clearer picture of the full landscape.
