Add an option in new track matte layer selection pulldown for "layer above".

Sometimes it is still necessary for every layer to have its own track matte and it would be quicker and easier to be able to select all of those layers at once and tell them to matte to the layer above them with one click. This used to be possible but appears to no longer be so in the new track matte UX. A seemingly obvious solution to this would be to add it as an option in the track matte layer pull down box (maybe at the top with "none" or something).

Just like with „Preserve underlying Transparency“ there could be inactive switches for „Select Layer above as Track Matte“ – the space is already there anyway, as these switches become visible once a track matte is selected. Shift-clicking inactive switches could apply Luma Matte(s) instead of Alpha Matte(s). This should of course work with multiple layers beingselected.

Definitely. Loading up 2023 this morning for the first time and had this happen on the first project.

Each layer has its own matte, the red box, where each text layer slides up into view. You could previously select each text layer and then select Alpha Matte and boom, they would all use the layer above their own.

Now, you manually have to select each layer above which adds to the click/time used.
