  1. The user selects or imports a screenshot containing text.
  2. The panel analyzes the letterforms in the image.
  3. It searches for visually similar fonts.
  4. It displays the closest matches and allows the user to apply or activate the selected font in After Effects.

Its Match font, but in after effects.

    @Enchanted_easebb85

    This is a great idea, but I think we already have something better that is soon to be in the release version of After Effects and is available now in the public beta.

    If you have After Effects (Beta) installed, import an image with type that you’d like to identify, add it to a Composition, draw a Rectangular Mask around it to isolate it, and then ask the Assistant “Match the font shown in the visible area of the selected Layer.”  It should find the similar font and offer to create a new text layer that uses it.

    Thanks for showing this, Warren!

    Does it have any connection with Adobe fonts, or the assistant searches only based on the fonts we already installed? 😄

    Thanks for the request. Makes sense to me. Upvoted from my side. Getting a few more votes from fellow motion designers who work from client references would help push it up the queue.

    Hi, Nishu!

    Thanks for the support! It will be very useful for all of us 😊

    I made a request in adobe fonts too (idk if request directly to them helps) here is the link for voting: https://adobefonts.uservoice.com/forums/940222-adobe-fonts-feature-requests-and-feedback/suggestions/51578339-add-photoshop-s-match-font-engine-in-after-effects

    Thank you once again!
