Automatic video editing

Hello. Have you ever thought about automatic video editing? For example, we have 10 videos, and by analyzing them some sequence was gathered. Maybe based on the movement in the frame or their interestingness (some kind of machine learning) or something that would let us know that this part of the video should definitely be edited. Would it be interesting to hear your thoughts?

But what do you actually expect it to do? Such systems already exist e.g. for news editing where an algorithm puts together a selection of clips in a bin or a rough cut, but the final editing still needs to be doen manually and of course this works in a very limited context based on keywords from the automated transcription the reporter can search for. More generic editing would be a completely different exercise...
