Cache Frames When Idle

I've just mustered the courage to update to AE 2022, and I was wondering why the "Cache Frames When Idle" option is not included in the Preview panel window with all the other RAM preview related settings?

I mean it's absolutely not a huge deal at all in the grand scheme, but as a long term AE user it's where I went to instinctively to find the setting. When i couldn't find it I had to go searching. Seems its kinda in an odd place under the comp dropdown.

It's a nice feature, but I just couldn't live with the extra fan noise from my system every few seconds!

Thanks for the tip! I was sure I've seen this somewhere in preferences in earlier versions.

This really could use a visible toggle in the interface. To quickly know whether it's on/off, would be extremely helpful.

@PanBeep

I've added a screen shot to my reply above.  I hope that helps.

Just uncheck it and it's disabled.

Hello, AE 2023 still has it. Could you please add an option to disable this?

A little on/off button in the Preview panel and/or the Timeline panel could be helpful.
