Can no longer change Theme UI Color in After Affects?

Hi:

Up until the latest update (2025) for After Effects. I was able to change my Theme UI Color. This link shows a video of how you used to able to change the Theme UI Color: (Mod note: Link removed)

I contacted an Adobe Agent and he said several changes were included in this latest update of After Effects. He said to file a feature request here in hopes of getting that feature back again. The After Effects Version I am using is: 25.0.0 (Build 53) and I am running it on a PC with a Windows 11.  This may not seem like a big issue to some people but it's something I got used to as part of my workflow.  If you could bring this feature back it would greatly be appreciated!

Mod note: Please do not condone the use of internal engineering tools like Console. The link showing how to change engineering settings in the UI has been removed. The text was also modified. Thanks.

They need to drop their AI goals fast!  Not only are they way behind everybody else and have no hope of catching up, their consumer base are creatives who don't want it.  So ridiculous.

It's simple. The managers need to see progress. On what? Doesn't matter. Can the devs work more on this software? Not really, it's a house of cards and they can only make surface-level changes without setting off a rube goldberg machine of spaghetti code induced bugs. I just came from a thread where newer versions of GPU drivers make AE lag, even when not using them.

I feel for the devs, I really do, but adobe really needs to put them toward a new compositing software. Sadly, that won't happen. They're all in on AI, and that means whatever they make is going to decide "no actually you didn't want that space ship; you wanted this one that looks vaguely like if star trek was a 90's pop art airbrush painting. And rarely a tree branch because AI poison"

100% agree. Why do they keep changing things for the worse?

Hello Adobe Team,

I’d like to request the return (or official implementation) of an advanced interface color customization feature in Premiere Pro — specifically the ability to change the background color of panels, text color, accents, and other UI elements beyond the existing "Brightness" slider.

In previous versions, this could be temporarily enabled via the Debug Console (e.g., EnableThemeColorPreference), but this option seems to have been removed or disabled in the current releases.

I understand the importance of UI consistency, but offering this type of advanced customization — even as an optional or experimental feature — would allow users to:

  • Personalize the interface to match their brand or creative identity

  • Create a more visually comfortable workspace

  • Tailor the environment for accessibility or aesthetic preference

This isn’t a critical feature for my workflow, but it would be a valuable and appreciated option for those of us who enjoy having a more customized creative space.

Thank you for your ongoing dedication to improving Premiere Pro!

Best regards.
